Gombak is situated within the borders of Selangor, neighbouring Kuala Lumpur and Genting Highlands. It was created in 1974 and has been undergoing modernisation ever since. Although Gombak is not under the tourism radar, it still possesses a number of attractive sites to visit.
Sights and Activities
Batu Caves is a limestone hill that has a series of caves and temples within it. The hill is considered the 10th Caves or Hill for Lord Muruga. A distinct features of this hill is the large statue of Lord Murugan and the long flight of 272 steps. This location is packed with devotees and tourist most of the time, especially during Thaipusam.
Templer’s Park is filled with lush greenery, gushing rivers and cascading waterfalls. This forest reserve is located north of Kuala Lumpur and is famous for its relaxing ambience. It is also a suitable location for picnics and other recreational activities.
