Directly translated, Ang Mo Kio means “large and prosperous bridge’. Ang Mo Kio is a planned town named after a bridge built during the rule of the British in Singapore. Since then the town has been a part of Singapore’s modernization plans yet still sustaining its distinct culture.

Ang Mo Kio Town Garden West :
This recreational park is suitable for nature lovers and health conscious folks. There are many footpaths available to jog along, ranging from flat paths to hilly terrains. There is also a 120 step staircase which leads you to the peak of the garden. Nature lovers will find the presence of Dillenia, Vitex and many more other species of plants intriguing in the secondary part of the forest. This park is about a 10-minute walk away from Ang Mo Kio MRT station.
Lower Peirce Reservoir :
Previously known as the Kallang River Reservoir, this is one of the oldest reservoir in Singapore, dating back to the 1910s. Today, the reservoir provides a serene environment home to various species of plants and animals. The reservoir is also suitable for fellow photographers who have a taste for scenic pictures.
