Seremban, a town on the East Coast of the Malaysian Peninsula has a rather different environment and culture from Kuantan, which is town on the East Coast. If you wish to travel between these two towns and compare the differences, there are three bus service operators who provide excellent services to those leaving from Seremban. These operators are Plusliner, Transnasional and Cepat Ekspress. All them will pick up passengers in Terminal One Seremban and drop them off at the Kuantan Sentral Terminal. The journey takes between 3 to 4 hours and you can choose to travel in the daytime or at night. Altogether, the three bus companies provide up to four trips a day.
Kuantan is a coastal town, and therefore the first thing you have to do is hit the beach, more specifically, Teluk Chempedak beach. This picturesque beach is perfect for swimming, or even a quiet stroll in the evenings. Back In Kuantan city, shopaholics will want to check out the East Coast mall and Berjaya Megamall, two of the finest modern shopping experiences available. If you have children in tow, a great destination would be the mini zoo at Taman Teruntum and the Bukit Gambang water park. For a touch of culture, do visit the Sungai Lembing Mines to experience the history of tin mining in the olden days of Pahang. The Sultan Ahmad Shah mosque should be your next destination as it is a good example of fine Malay architecture. Being a coastal town, you can expect there to be a lot of good and tasty seafood. Some of the more outstanding eateries to visit is Ana Ikan Bakar Petai and Alor Akar seafood where you can get some really crispy butter deep fried mantis prawns. You should also look out for some local snacks or kuih which are fish or seafood based, like steamed keropok lekor, sata ikan and otak-otak.
